Azumanga Daioh!

Spring is here and I always get the urge to re-watch my favorite anime from high school around this time. So much love for this show.

On a related note: Where is my Yotsuba anime? The world needs that.

A piece of gift art I did for aidosaur (as Garrus) and ananthymous (as Tali), the duo behind JohnnyWander. These two have been a huge inspiration to me over the years and I wanted to do something to say thank you to them. I’d drawn this thinking they would be at ECCC but I’ll have to find some other way to get it to them.

  • 1: Take a picture of your workspace.

  • 3: Show a thing you last drew, no matter how small or a “doodle” it is.

Working on a design for single letter flags that can be strung together for my Aunt.

  • 5: Who/what inspires you?

A lot of things inspire me, too many and too random to name. Check out my inspiration tumblr.

  • 6: Draw a same pic with your dominant and non-dominant hand.

  • 8: Do you listen to music when you draw? Favorites?

Totally. I have a hard time doing any creative work to silence because it causes my brain to focus on the passage of time. When I really need to focus on something, I’ll chose instrumental/movie scores that are wordless.

According to, my current jams are:

  • 11: Draw a pic of yourself like how you look just now.

I dress like I’m 10 and I’m proud of it!

Self Portrait. Photoshop.

With a bonus fat cat.

I started up a Digimon art collab over on twitter but it’s open to tumblr people too! I’ll be creating one large illustration featuring everyone’s art and there are a lot of characters to choose from.

Deadline is June 15th!

Tweet at me or send me an ask if you would like to join!

All the hands.
Every hand.

Recent ink sketches.

Oh!! You just rolled up some weird cow! Wait…it’s second cousin Daisy!

My piece for laughingbear's Katamari Collab. (Which is late because I derped when I wrote down the date)

Merryweather the fairy for the #DisneyLadiesCollab. She was the best of three. For reals though, how did those three raise a baby without magic when they couldn’t sew or cook?

I was cleaning out our computer room found that I have a healthy stack of old sketchbooks that I want to get rid of so we have more space. I’m probably going to scan and archive them so I have a record of the work. These date back to 2007 up through 2013, which includes my time at AIS and AnimationMentor.

My question to you all is: Would anyone be interested if I complied everything into one/several PDFs and offered them up for download?

I’d probably put them up for free and I could even throw in my portfolio flatbook from when I graduated in 2010 if people would like that as well.

What do you think of this idea?

Step-By-Step process of this image. This video shows Print>Final Stage.

This was my first time doing the sketch in PS and printing it out to ink. Before, I’d always done the sketch on paper and inked over it. It was nice being able to really work out the anatomy and fabric folds without having to worry about needed to erase something. This was also my first time using screentones, which I think worked out rather well.
